Co-sleeper no more?

Avery has been sleeping in her pack 'n play in my room for the last 3 nights. Since I've done this she is back up for her 3-4am feeding. She is quick to go back to sleep and doesn't eat very long at all. I hope it won't be long until we're back to sleeping through the night. I was going to attempt to start our night routine at 9 instead of 10 but I don't want to throw too many new things at her at once. I think the earlier bedtime will be next then moving to the crib in her room. After that we will probably move the bedtime up another hour. I miss her being in my bed, but moving out is for the best.

Great-grandma and great-great-grandma are visiting from Florida. Avery is getting lots of loves from them.

Avery still hasn't met her cousin. He is stubborn and is now officially 3 days late. We will meet him someday soon!

We've got a sleeper!

Avery has slept through the night since Sunday night! Woohoo!

Sunday night she went to bed at 11 and was up at 5 and back to sleep for a few hours. Monday night she went to bed at 10:30 and slept until 8:15. Last night she went to bed at 10:15 and slept until 7, ate and back to bed until 9. I have still been waking up a couple times at night to check on her, usually when she was getting up to eat. I think I'm still used to the 3am feeding because I wake up and I am up for a half hour or so. It's such a nice feeling to have her sleeping all night. I'm sure we'll have out set backs, but so far so good! I'm so proud of her!

Look very closely

What's different about Avery?

She got her ears pierced today! I was so nervous, but she did really good. I didn't know how it would affect her sleeping because she sleeps on her belly, but she took a couple hour nap when we got home with no trouble.

She looks so pretty!

Pictures of the big girl!

2 month appointment

Avery had her 2 month doctor visit today. She weighed 11lbs 11oz and 23 1/2 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile for her height! Tall girl! She gained almost 3 lbs in a month! The doctor checked her out and said she's just perfect, but mommy already knew that. I have to schedule her repeat hip ultrasound and hearing check. Hopefully I can get those done before I go back to work.

She got one oral vaccine and 3 shots today! Poor baby. Grandma held her down while mom cried in the chair. She did really good, I didn't. She's been sleepy most of the day and fussy when she's awake. The Tylenol is keeping the fever down though.

I can't believe how much she has grown in 2 months. She is so long. She is still fitting into her 0-3 month clothes but I don't know for how long she will be able to. I think I'm going to have to wash her 3-6 month clothes and get those ready. She is so much more alert and bright eyed than she was just a few short weeks ago. She will turn her head now if someone is holding her to find me when she hears me talking. It's cute. She smiles a lot and two days ago I even heard a little laugh! She is such a big girl. She is still sleeping with me and I'm okay with that for now. I like being close to her at night. She has slept through the night one time! It was only once but at least I know she has the potential!

I start working on March 2nd. It makes me sad to leave her, but I'm thankful to have found a job with the way things are right now. I'm thankful that I'm only working 3 days a week and that I will still have 4 whole days a week to be with her. I'm going to enjoy these last couple weeks at home with her. I didn't think I would be able to be off work this long.

I'm going to go snuggle Miss Fussy Butt. I hope you all are well!

Love you all!

Rough couple days

Avery has been wanting to nurse non stop for the past couple days. This keeps mom from doing much of anything. At least last night she only got up once. The night before she was up A LOT! I hope it gets better soon!

Before I was a Mom...

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
Or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
My plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
And my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
So doctors could do tests.Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
Watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
Having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
To feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
Between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderment
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom..

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
Before I Was a Mom.

Big morning smiles for mommy!

She's so cute! She loves to coo and talk to mommy!

I love this pic because she has that look in her eye like she's gonna be a little stinker!
